Article Excerpt An agreement to acquire the W Hotel San Diego, which introduced hip to Downtown's lodging market when it opened in 2002, is expected June 30, according to a source close to the deal.
The buyer was said to be San Clemente-based Sunstone Hotel Investors.
Neither Sunstone, nor Kennedy Associates Real Estate Counsel Inc. of Seattle, which arranged the purchase and renovation of the property formerly known as the Old Columbia Square for $62 million for a group of labor union pension funds, returned calls seeking comment. Roger Paul, the hotel's general manager, declined to comment.
