One transaction changed Mark Bounds' career course: celebrating 20 years of real estate success.

MADISON -- When Mark Bounds was working as an economic developer for the North Mississippi Industrial Development Organization straight out of college, one particular transaction changed the course of his career.

"At that time. I was making $10,000 a year," recalled Bounds. "I did all the footwork selling a building that would bring jobs to a town in Northeast Mississippi, and a broker flew into town for the closing and got a $100,000 fee. I'd never met, seen or heard of the guy. I became so intrigued with real estate, that night, I went to East Mississippi Junior College and enrolled in my first real estate course."

Twenty-one at the time, Bounds was determined to open his own company by the age of 30.
