Jim Messineo will never forget the day before Glory Prigge died last October.

He remembers holding the hand of the 45-year-old mother of three at her bedside and listening to her ask about Major Rhythm, one of the five thoroughbreds he runs at Arlington Park.

"Glory even wrote a poem about him (Major Rhythm) that she wanted read at her funeral," said Messineo, who is good friends with Glory's husband, Glenn, an accountant in Mount Prospect and a Buffalo Grove High School graduate.
