Lucille Tanton
A celebration of life will be held Aug. 7 for Lucille Tanton of Eugene, who died July 25 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was 86.
Tanton was born Jan. 9, 1918, in Pine Island, Minn., to George and Lena Kuntz Weeks. She married Wayne Tanton in Eugene on Jan. 1, 1938. He died July 28, 2001.
She lived in Minneapolis until 1936, when she settled in this area.
She was an avid Oregon Duck football and basketball fan. She also was an avid National Football League fan and followed new teams, coaches and all the games of the season.
She enjoyed fishing at Crane Prairie Reservoir with her husband. She also enjoyed camping, hunting, sewing, helping others and teaching life skills. She especially enjoyed her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Vinson of Eugene and Deanna Palm of Montana; two brothers, Harold and Donald Weeks; a sister, Daisie Niccous of Eugene; four grandchildren; six great-grand- children; and one great-great- grandchild.
The celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at South Hills Rehabilitation Center in Eugene. Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sister Theodore Marie Society at Sacred Heart...
