An underground and alternative favorite that makes the occasional cameo on the mainstream scene (i.e. an appearance on Saturday Night Live in 2989), the Cowboy Junkies are currently making the rounds on a tour depressingly titled the Long Journey Home for One Soul Now, their 2004 release. AUG 18: HILARY DUFF

The tween queen and Texas native has done the small screen as the lead in the Disney channel's uber-successful Lizzie McGuire. The Paramount Theatre brings a bit more structure to its annual summer of film. Tuesdays will be dedicated to foreign classics, Wednesdays to great comedies, and Sundays to epics. There will also be weekend matinees that will appeal to the family-friendly audience and weekend late-night showings for those whose taste veers toward the offbeat.
