Hilyard work continues; crews begin on Patterson

The intersection of Hilyard Street and East 24th Avenue will be closed for at least five days beginning Monday for road work. Eugene Public Works is managing a $2 million project to reconstruct Hilyard from 13th to 24th avenues.

The closure of the intersection will allow the contractor to rebuild the roadbed and construct a new concrete surface. The Hilyard project is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 5.

Also in the West University neighborhood, construction begins next week on the resurfacing of Patterson Street between East Broadway and 13th Avenue. That work includes spot repairs to the roadbed and constructing a new asphalt surface. At least one lane will remain open at all times.
