Who's demonizing who with rhetoric?

I hesitated to respond to Jake Daab's July 18 letter, "Decrying 'liberals' is a cheap argument."

First, I fear I may be accusing a fellow human of being as ignorant, as his letter sounds to me - even though I recognize he is only exaggerating to give force to his arguments.

Still, when he classifies as "bigots" those who strive to protect marriage from attacks by "liberal" judges and homosexual activists, I have to compare "conservative" arguments with the harshness of Sen. Ted Kennedy, et al. When I do that, most "conservatives" appear weak in the "bigot" category.
