Devyn Lerner knows exactly what career she will follow.

She wants to be a special education teacher.

Her experience working with children who have special needs goes years back - five years, actually, for 12-year-old Devyn.

"I love that they look up to me. I love that responsibility," said the Mundelein girl.

The interest first began at Mechanics Grove School when Devyn met a girl in gym class who had Down syndrome.

"She seemed fun. She was shy at first, but when I got to know her she's not," she said.

Getting to know her, Devyn later offered to go to one of her friend's classes to help her...
