PROJECT OVERVIEW

The local Sino/French joint venture company DONGFENG PEUGEOT CITROEN AUTOMOBILES' sales increased by 38% up to 100,173 vehicles in the first half of 2006 compared to the previous year. The company, for that matter, sold 140,000 vehicles in 2005 and is now aiming at 200,000 in 2006. The partners in the undertaking include France-based PSA PEUGEOT CITROEN and the local DONGFENG MOTOR GROUP.

As a result, PSA PEUGEOT is now gearing-up to build a new plant with its Chinese partner at Wuhan in central Hubei province. Construction plans under consideration call for building...
