Southwestern Energy is putting a lot of energy into gas and oil exploration and production in the Southwest.

The company operates in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, where it has proved reserves of 645.5 billion cu. ft. of natural gas equivalent, some 92% of which is natural gas. Southwestern Energy is also engaged in natural gas transportation and marketing.

The company had announced plans to sell subsidiary Arkansas Western Gas, which distributes natural gas to 145,000 customers in Arkansas, to help pay a $109 million judgment...
