Anything can happen at the Prefontaine Classic track and field meet, and usually does.

But today, at historic Hayward Field, a sellout crowd is all but guaranteed the unusual.

The two men with a shared grip on the world record for 100 meters will be on the same track and in the same event but not in the same race.

The track for this meet has a good chance of being wet for the first time in 21 years when the curtain rises at 1:30 p.m. on the 32nd Pre Classic.

Not since the 1985 Pre Classic has there been measurable rainfall on the meet.
