RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., May 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The availability of scholarships has kept the cost of an education in the University of North Carolina system affordable, even for needy students, according to a new study by the N.C. State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA).

"As costs increased on the campuses of the UNC system during a period of five years, scholarships for needy students increased even more," said Steve Brooks, NCSEAA executive director.
