PROJECT OVERVIEW

The US TRADE & DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (USTDA) recently provided a grant to the local state-owned ELECTRICITE D'HAITI (EDH) to enable the completion of a project feasibility regarding the construction of power generation, transmission and distribution projects in the country. As a result, EDH subsequently retained the services of US-based POWER ENGINEERS INC. to complete the study.

Currently about 11% of the country's population is connected to electric lines and less than 1/3 of Haiti's installed generating capacity reaches end users. As a result, the project is aimed at addressing the urgent need in Haiti for reliable power and expanded access to energy.
