PROJECT OVERVIEW

An Indian/Egyptian joint venture, operating under the name of JV-INDO EGYPTIAN FERTILISER CO., was recently established in view of building a phosphoric acid plant in Egypt. The partners in the planned undertaking and their respective shareholdings include India-based INDIAN FARMERS' FERTILISER COOPERATIVE LTD. (IFFCO - 76%) and the local EL NASR, a state-owned mining company (24%).

Construction plans under consideration call for building a plant with an installed production capacity of 450,000 tons per year. In so doing, IFFCO is expected to enter into a 100% buyback arrangement for the phosphoric acid produced.
