PROJECT OVERVIEW

Oman is currently gearing-up to triple its natural gas output to 70 million to 80 million cubic meters per day in the next 5 years. In so doing the government recently signed a production-sharing agreement with BG PLC of the UK for a gas block in the Gulf Arab state.

The Block 60 in question covers almost 1,500 square kms and contains the Abu Bu Atoob gas and condensate discovery made in 1998. The concession is said to contain potential reserves of 8 trillion cubic meters. The government of independent oil producer Oman will sign a sales and purchase...
