A Congressional subcommittee holding a hearing on the theory of 'peak oil' got a surprise Wednesday when one of the panelists, Cambridge Energy Research Associates (Cera) director Robert Esser, testified that global oil production could increase by 25% in the next ten years, and that oil production won't begin declining until 2020 at the very earliest.
