Fresh off completing one the country's first pandemic flu drills, one of the state's top homeland security officials Tuesday night proclaimed "Illinois is in great shape."

Col. Jill Morgenthaler, Gov. Rod Blagojevich's deputy chief of staff for homeland security, wasn't promising any sort of statewide bulletproof-ness to widespread death from a killer flu, should one materialize.
