JACKSON -- Financing planning for the aging Baby Boomer generation is a topic important to the country's economic viability, as well as the individuals who will retire at the same time as record numbers of other Americans.
Dealing with those challenges will be the focus of the Mississippi Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) Annual Symposium May 3 at the Mississippi Realtors Center on Lakeland Drive.
"Planning for an Aging Population" is the topic of the 23rd Annual Symposium being sponsored by the FPA in association with the Estate Planning Council of Mississippi, the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Society of Financial Service Professionals.
Leland Speed, director of the Mississippi Development Authority, will be the luncheon speaker at noon.
Linda Duessel, senior vice president, senior portfolio manager and market strategist, Federated Securities Corporation, Pittsburgh, Pa., will do an overview of financial planning in general.
