Clarence Rutherford
JUNCTION CITY - Clarence Earl Rutherford of Junction City died April 27 of age-related causes at age 88. No service is planned.
Rutherford was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Casper, Wyo., to Carl and Dessie Irey Rutherford. He married Alice Cunningham on March 28, 1943, in Corvallis.
He served in the Navy in World War II doing bomb disposal in the Pacific Theater. He worked as a dispatcher for Eugene Water & Electric Board and as a forester.
Survivors include his wife; six children, Rob Rutherford, Rosalind Rutherford, Christi Slaven, Bonnie Thielman, Jeff Rutherford and Jeri Rutherford; a brother, Harold; four sisters, Nell Maharry, Helen McCall, Roberta Wright and Beth Rolph; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Donni Rutherford, died previously.
