DEXTER - A 19-year-old man was being held in the Lane County Jail on Saturday after a dispute outside his mother's mobile home escalated into a shooting rampage that left a 48-year-old man dead and the accused man's 20-year-old girlfriend wounded.

Kevin Ray Krauser, who told authorities he's been homeless for the past seven months, was being held without bail on a probation violation charge as police and prosecutors conferred about the charges that will result from Saturday's shootings.

"Since we had something else to charge him with while we sort it out, that's a bonus for us," said Sgt. Spence Slater of the Lane County Sheriff's Office.
