KOREAN AIR Q1 PROFIT SOARS 114.7PCT ON FUEL SURCHARGE HIKE

SEOUL - South Korea's leading airline Korean Air said Thursday its first-quarter net profit soared 114.7 per cent from a year ago on higher fuel surcharges.

Net profit came to 127.3 billion won (US$135.3 million) between January and March, compared with 59.3 billion won a year earlier, the company said in a regulatory filing.
