A former ESPN executive urged University of Oregon sports marketing students on Thursday to dream big and take risks.

Lee Ann Daly said ESPN was created a little over 25 years ago when a few individuals went out on the limb to start a 24-hour sports television network. In the years that followed, women defied conventional wisdom, pushing for a role in sports management, she said.
