Christopher Williams's new exhibition at the David Zwirner Gallery in New York is the fourth in a series of "revisions" of his new body of work. The title is taken from Jean-Luc Godard's 1967 film Two or Three Things I Know About Her. Numbers figure prominently in the various titles that are attached to these works. While this is the fourth revision of Williams's eighteen lessons on industrial society, the wall at the entrance of the main gallery bears the additional title "Program28." The invitation card bears a reproduction of one of the images from the show, a Kiev camera lens. A constellation of numbers surrounds the image; each is linked to a different part of the lens. Yet, instead of a description of the parts in question, one can read a short sequential text written by Williams, of which this is the conclusion: "... 28. Cartridge Replacement Unit 29. Release 30.
