PROJECT OVERVIEW

Sri Lanka currently imports all its light crude requirements from Iran, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia and refines about 2 million tons per year locally. A further 1.2 million tons are imported as refined products. As a result, the government is now seeking a $500,000,000 soft loan from Saudi Arabia in order to expand its production capacity.
