PROJECT OVERVIEW

An international consortium, operating under the name of ASG POWER SA, is currently gearing-up to build a power plant and associated regasification terminal in southwestern Albania. The group is made up of AET, a Swiss public utility and undisclosed European and U.S. investors.

As things currently stand, the project's technical and legal terms are soon expected to be completed enabling the approval of the Albanian Parliament of the final contract by June 2006. The complex to be built in the Fieri district, 100 kms southwest of the capital Tirana, will consist of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification plant with an annual capacity of 10 billion cubic meters as well as a combined cycle power station that is expected to be built in 3 phases of 400 Mw each.

The undertaking is intended to provide Albania with all of its power as well as supply gas and power through international connections to the European grid which will transform Albania into one of the biggest producers...
