April 27 - Battle Mountain Royalty Update --- Increased Resource Estimates at Dolores

Battle Mountain Gold Exploration Corp. (OTCBB:BMGX) ("Battle Mountain") is pleased to announce that Minefinders Corporation Ltd. ("Minefinders") provided increased resource estimates for their Dolores gold and silver project in a News Release dated April 25, 2006. Battle Mountain holds a 1.25% net smelter return royalty on gold production from the Dolores project.

In their release, Minefinders stated that the results of recent drilling has increased both the measured and indicated resources estimates at the Dolores project in northern Mexico to 118.4 million tonnes containing 3.06 million ounces of gold and 149 million ounces of silver.

Also in their release, Minefinders compared the new measured and indicated ("M&I") Dolores resources estimates to the previously reported resources estimates both for within the planned open pit and for the entire project: the project M&I gold ounces increased by 349,000 (12.9%), and the pit M&I gold ounces increased by 77,500 ounces (4%).

Minefinders explained how much of the material responsible for the increase in the M&I resources within the planned open pit was previously treated as waste with no economic value, and how converting this waste material to additional resources will allow for a reduced stripping ratio, increased total production, and increased revenue flows.

Minefinders confirmed that they are on schedule to begin construction on the Dolores Mine this quarter and that production is targeted for summer 2007.
