...which is only partly made in jest, has some merit: even if corporate-minions like us were no longer around (let alone the Mayor and Council), taxes would still be paid and processed, City buses would continue to run, garbage would get collected, water would continue to flow, wastewater would still find a sewer, and recreation facilities would be open. In fact virtually the full array of municipal services would keep operating with or without City Hall because, as my colleague also likes to say (he has a Yoda-like complex if not physique), we can really only influence 5%...
