Depending on how you look at it, Eugene either has a shortage of college bars or way too many student watering holes.

Is the Highlands a college bar? Probably not, but you can find a lot of students circling the pool tables at the south Eugene brew pub.

How about the venerable New Max's Tavern, which sometimes feels like the quintessential college bar and sometimes resembles Moe's Tavern from "The Simpsons?" The same goes for Luckey's.
