Admittedly, Kenya Wilkins didn't immediately embrace the idea of coaching a semi-pro basketball team in Eugene.

It took several months of discussions, but the former Oregon star soon warmed to the idea of spearheading the International Basketball League's expansion team. And now, a little more than a week away from his head coaching debut, Wilkins believes everyone else will embrace the Eugene Chargers too.
