`Peace in the Democratic Vineyard' is talk topic

The Pacifica Forum will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at 123 McKenzie Hall at the University of Oregon, near 11th Avenue and Kincaid Street.

The topic will be "Peace in the Democratic Vineyard," an informal discussion with Betsy Staffensen. Admission is free. For information, call 344-0483.

Lecture to focus on the science of complexity

Alder Fuller will offer a lecture and slide presentation on the science of complexity from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Tsunami Books, 2585 Willamette St.

Complexity is a set of new, interdisciplinary sciences studying networks of many interacting parts such as cells, genetic systems, brains, immune systems, organisms, societies, organizations, ecosystems, climates and economies.
