I have been a youth volunteer for the Bethel Teen Court for about four years. Teen Court is authorized by the Lane County Department of Youth Services to conduct hearings for juveniles who have committed their first crimes.

Youths who admit to their offenses voluntarily can have their consequences determined by peers and can earn the right to apply for early record expunction. West Eugene and Bethel Teen Courts are programs of the Eugene Recreation Division. Lane County also has peer courts in Cottage Grove, Florence-Mapleton and Oakridge.
