Fifty-nine Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) that were previously poor performers on planning have turned the corner by meeting their development control targets.

ODPM is officially dis-engaging with these LPAs that were previously designated as Planning Standards Authorities (PSAs), and congratulating them on their success.

There have been many individual success stories that can be attributed to the significant hard work by members and officers to improve their local authority planning services.
