Stephen Johnston never planned to be the chief executive officer of a high-growth technology company. Especially at the tender age of 33.

"The truth is, when I joined SmartSynch, I knew very little about technology," said Johnston. "As a matter of fact, on the first day of work, our vice president of software gave me the 'Cliff Notes' version of how to write a software program. Nonetheless, I worked hard and found myself more and more involved in every aspect of our business. When the time came for new leadership, I was humbled that our board put their faith and confidence in me."
