Okay, that said, grab another cup of coffee and try to keep your eyes open. 2005 was a record-breaking year for TheLocalBBB (covering Eastern Washington, North Idaho and Montana) for complaints, pre-purchase report requests and media coverage.

Just preparing for this column has exhausted me.

Let's take a look at which industries in 2005 received the most complaints, which ones handled problems, and which industries generated the largest numbers of calls before people made a buying decision.

Complaints

For the first time in years, contractors and homebuilders did not make the Top 10 list for the number of complaints filed in 2005. Nice work! But some familiar categories did reappear.
