The Sheldon Irish were less than a second away from victory Monday. It proved to be too much time.

Franklin's Sean Speakmon made a free throw with seven-tenths of second left in the first overtime period to tie the game and send it into double overtime

From there it was all Quakers. They outscored the Irish 10-3 to earn a 62-55 win in OSAA Class 4A boys basketball first-round playoff action.

Blake Poole recorded 22 points and 12 rebounds for Sheldon (16-9), which came back from a 13-point halftime deficit to force overtime, where the Irish took the lead and had an apparent win before a foul on a wild...
