The Eugene Generals erupted with five goals in the third period Saturday night to defeat Tri-City, 6-2, in the opening game of the Junior-B Northern Pacific Hockey League Western Division playoffs at the Lane Ice Center.

Tri-City struck first in the second period as Jared Darby scored the first of his two goals. Cameron Cimick tied it for the Generals seven minutes later with assists from Brad Meyers and Joe Myers.

Ben Tikka scored the first of his two third-period goals just 51 seconds into the third period for Eugene, but Tri-City tied it five minutes later on Darby's second goal.
