The media attention lavished on those eight meat-processing plant workers who won the Powerball lottery have boosted sales of the Mega Millions lottery. Tonight's drawing teases with another bloated jackpot of $256 million.

We see some ordinary working stiffs on TV holding comically oversized checks, and we think maybe we should buy some of those lottery tickets - and work on pithy, homespun one-liners to feed the horde of reporters and camera lenses recording all our good fortune.
