Kenny Williams was hardly apologetic Monday.

If anything, he was apoplectic.

A day after taking off on Frank Thomas, the White Sox general manager took center stage again and was adamant in his desire to put narcissistic athletes back in their place.

If Williams thinks he's popular now, he's soon to hear from the silent majority, as Ryne Sandberg did late last summer, from those who want to take back pro sports from the athletes who have tainted them.

"It's indicative of an entire generation of athletes that don't get it, that care only about themselves," Williams said by phone from Arizona. "That's what Ozzie (Guillen) and I talked about when we talked about putting a team together of players that care about the team and not their own stats."
