During last fall's debacle that was the Supreme Court nomination of Harriet Miers, the conservatives who forced her withdrawal rallied to the cry, "No more Souters," a reference to Justice David Souter, who was nominated as a reliable conservative by the first President Bush and who has voted more liberally than anyone ever expected.
