Wayne resident David Avram just missed becoming a finalist on "American Idol" on Wednesday night, after he had made it into the top 44 singers of tens of thousands who auditioned for this year's show.

"I just had a great time," Avram, 25, said on Wednesday night. "It was definitely something worthwhile."

"Idol" viewers didn't see much of Avram during the series, and only saw him leaving the judges' room on Wednesday night.

"They were actually really nice about it, so I was surprised," a disappointed Avram said as he left.
