PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The US TRADE & DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (USTDA) recently provided a grant to the local DONETSK REGIONAL GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION in order to enable the completion of a project feasibility study regarding a planned coal bed methane (CBM) and coal mine methane (CMM) development project. And, the agency subsequently retained the services of US-based ADVANCED RESOURCES INTERNATIONAL INC. (ARI) to complete the study.

The aim of the project is to evaluate the possibility of establishing a commercial venture that will sell produced methane to domestic markets including the consideration of possible options for gas exports. In so doing, the development of natural gas from CBM is expected to help to reduce Ukraine's dependence on foreign energy as well as enable the country to redirect savings...
