Schools, library hold fair on alternative education

The Eugene Public Library and the Eugene Waldorf School will co-sponsor the 10th annual Alternative Education Fair from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the downtown library.

The event offers an opportunity for parents and students to learn more about a variety of alternative education programs in Eugene and elsewhere in Lane County, including private schools, charter schools, Eugene School District alternative schools and home-schooling organizations. For information, call the library at 682-8316 or the school at 683-6951.

Mayor to answer kids' questions on Web site

Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy has launched a new feature on her Web site titled "Ask the Mayor," in which she responds to queries from youngsters.
