In the dark and cozy corner of Jo Federigo's jazz bar, a drummer wails on his skins with ferocity and verve.

To his right, standing with one foot hovering over a pedal, a guitarist scales up and down his strings on a solo that lasts as long as it needs to. The guitarist looks up across from him at the bass player, keeping rhythm with a traditional stand-up jazz bass.

They play in sync, with simple communication of head nods and body language.

The vocalist, with dreaded hair and a focused eye, awaits the right time to jump in. When he does, he uses rhymes and phrases taken from poetry written earlier and adapted to fuse with the band's hip-hop, funk...
