STARS OF THE GAME
Oregon - Strong safety Anthony Trucks, senior, Antioch, Calif. Trucks was named co-defensive player of the game by the Holiday Bowl (with Oklahoma defensive end C.J. Ah You, who has two sacks for 14 yards in losses), recovering a fumble at the Oregon 1 by ripping the ball away from Sooners running back Adrian Peterson, and making the tackle on OU quarterback Rhett Bomar on third down that enabled the Ducks to get the ball back with just over three minutes remaining, trailing by three. Trucks had a game- and career-high 14 tackles, including two tackles for loss.
Oklahoma - Rhett Bomar, redshirt freshman quarterback, Grand Prairie, Texas. Bomar was named the Holiday Bowl's offensive player of the game, completing 17-of-30 passes for 229 yards and one touchdown.
KEY STAT
Oklahoma's defensive numbers - The Sooners held the Ducks to 327 yards total offense, third-lowest total of the season, and Oregon was only 6-of-18 on third-down conversions and netted just 84 yards rushing. Oregon's 14 points were its second-lowest of the season (13 vs. USC).
