SAN DIEGO - Ah, what might have been. Instead, it's "what if?"

Because you might have remembered the 2005 Holiday Bowl for the way Oregon strong safety Anthony Trucks ripped the football away from Oklahoma's Adrian Peterson on the UO 1, the Sooners up 17-7, the game about to get out of reach.

You might have remembered the spectacular, weaving scamper by Oregon running back Terrence Whitehead, turning a short pass by Brady Leaf on third-and-four into a 37-yard gain to the Sooners 35 with 2:19 remaining and Oregon trailing by a field goal.

You might have remembered this game for the way Leaf, a sophomore, scrambled improbably away from a sack on third-and-14 to get the ball to Jeremiah Johnson, a freshman, for a 19-yard gain to the Oklahoma 20 with 1:17 remaining.
