The fire call came in at 3 a.m. on May 22; a shed and garage were on fire on the property of a home on the southeast side of Gilberts.

Quick action would be needed if the home were going to be saved.

The Rutland-Dundee Township Fire Department arrived, and was able to extinguish the fire in a short time.

There were car parts, tires and rims in the shed.

The garage contained a rebuilt classic car, a hot tub and tools.

The shed was completely destroyed, but a large part of the garage escaped damage.

As in most fires, fire personnel afterward noted how surprising it was that so much damage was done in such a short period of time.
