'Twas the day before the opening of whitetail deer hunting season with guns in Mississippi. Every hunting supply retail outlet in the state was packed from wall to wall. Camo clad gents and gals with tots in tow wondered the isles with fists full of dollars and credit cards. Over the intercom there came a holler, "Jim Boy get another Remington 30-06 from the back room, mount that Leupold scope for Mr. Bob, and Missy Lou needs help with LaCrosse boots."

Lines formed 10 elbows deep at the check out registers, as parallel marching customers swapped favorite deer stories back and forth in an electric atmosphere of excited calm. Chimes rang throughout the store signaling the opening day that was soon to dawn, cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching. Business owners smiled with glee as they busily restocked the shelves for the next wave of last minute shoppers, an annual tradition for hunters.
