It's not haute cuisine for sure, but putting noodles in some form on the dinner table seems to be one of the best ways to get the younger ones in the family to fill their tummies with a minimum of complaint about the menu.

And on hectic winter evenings when it's cold outside and so dark it feels like bedtime by the time everyone gets home, that's not an insignificant thing.

Admittedly, some of these recipes may strike the more sophisticated palates of the grown-ups in the household as a bit Mickey Mouse, but if so, they have choices: Make two main dishes so everybody's happy; or feed the children early and have a more leisurely, adult meal later in the evening.
