As you plan your next excursion - whether for vacation, business or an educational exchange - I urge you to consider a visit to one of our four sister cities. I recently visited two of those cities - Jinju, Korea, and Kakegawa, Japan - and found our relationships to be of great value.

Eugene City Councilor Gary Pape and I were part of a delegation of 10; we were especially fortunate to be accompanied by four Eugene residents of Korean heritage - Kenneth and Ruth Yi and Ki-won and Youn-Keun Rhew. More than 1,000 Koreans live in the Eugene area, and our economic, cultural and educational connections to the country are strong.
