CORRECTION (ran 12/1/2005): A story on Page A1 on Wednesday incorrectly implied that the city of Coburg was relying on above-projected traffic ticket revenue to balance its 2005-06 budget. The higher tax revenues will help it balance the budget ahead of schedule.

COBURG - Eight months after Coburg officials promised to cut back on speed traps along Interstate 5, the city is again on track to collect a large part of its $1.7 million budget from traffic citations.

If it continues at the same pace for the rest of the fiscal year, the city could take in $630,000 or more from traffic fines and bail. This would be enough to help put the city in the black for 2005-06, after facing a budget...
